Five-time major champion Brooks Koepka is bringing his championship pedigree to TGL, joining Motor City Golf Club as the first player named to the expansion franchise’s inaugural roster for the 2027 season.

Motor City Golf Club will become TGL’s seventh team and the league’s first expansion franchise when it begins competition next season. The Detroit-based club is owned by Middle West Partners, led by Michael Hamp, Peter Hamp and Kevin Kelleher, all of whom have ties to the Motor City.

Koepka gives the new franchise an immediate marquee presence. The 36-year-old former world No. 1 owns five major championships, including consecutive U.S. Open victories in 2017 and 2018 and PGA Championship titles in 2018, 2019 and 2023. His reputation for thriving under pressure makes him a natural fit for TGL’s fast-paced, team-oriented competition.

Koepka has previously attended a TGL match at SoFi Center in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, and said the league’s energy, pace and team atmosphere attracted him to the format.

The addition represents another major step in Motor City Golf Club’s preparations for its debut. Additional players will be announced in the coming months as the franchise builds around Koepka and prepares to chase a championship in its first TGL season.
