The 2026 Solheim Cup delivered another memorable chapter in one of golf’s most spirited rivalries, with Europe reclaiming the trophy after a dramatic 15-13 victory over the United States at Bernardus Golf in the Netherlands.
From the opening matches, little separated the two sides. Europe and the United States finished Friday tied 4-4, setting the tone for a competition filled with momentum swings, clutch putting and the unmistakable intensity that has come to define the Solheim Cup. Europe moved ahead 7-5 during Saturday morning foursomes, only for the Americans to respond in the afternoon four-balls and send the competition into Sunday singles deadlocked at 8-8.

With everything riding on the final 12 matches, Europe produced its finest golf when it mattered most.
Captain Anna Nordqvist’s team surged ahead by winning six of the first eight completed singles matches, turning a tense contest into a wave of European blue. Charley Hull, Linn Grant and rookie Julia López Ramírez were among those delivering crucial performances, while Lottie Woad supplied one of the defining moments of the week. The young English star defeated Auston Kim 2&1, her short winning putt on the 17th green ensuring Europe would reach the number needed to regain the Cup.

Moments later, veteran Carlota Ciganda completed a commanding 4&2 victory over Jennifer Kupcho, making the European triumph official. The United States continued to battle, highlighted by Alison Lee’s remarkable comeback from four down against Esther Henseleit, but Europe’s fast start proved too much to overcome.
For Europe, the 2026 Solheim Cup was ultimately a victory built on depth, resilience and inspired Sunday play. On home soil, with a passionate Dutch gallery behind them, the Europeans once again demonstrated why team golf can produce some of the sport’s most compelling theater.
