Turtleson, makers of golf apparel, recently welcomed a select group of golf industry leaders to its Bristol headquarters for the inaugural Bristol Sessions, an invitation-only gathering created to explore the evolving needs of the modern golf club and the future of golf retail.
The event takes its name and inspiration from the original Bristol Sessions of 1927, where nearly a century ago, musicians gathered in Bristol, Tenn., to share distinct regional sounds, perspectives and traditions. What emerged from those recordings helped shape the future of American music and established Bristol as the “Birthplace of Country Music.”
While the setting and subject have changed, the spirit behind the gathering remains the same: to bring talented people together, create space for honest exchange and listen closely enough to discover what might come next.
At the inaugural golf-focused event, attendees participated in focused conversations surrounding the forces shaping today’s golf retail environment. Rather than operating as a traditional conference or product presentation, The Bristol Sessions was intentionally designed as a collaborative forum centered around open dialogue, shared experiences and the belief that the industry’s best ideas are often developed together.
“The modern golf club is changing, and the expectations of its members, guests and retail customers are changing with it,” said Greg Oakley, CEO of Turtleson. “If we want to serve our partners well, we have to do more than present them with new products. We have to listen, learn and create alongside them. The Bristol Sessions represents our commitment to building that kind of partnership.”
The gathering marks the beginning of a broader series of customer-facing events from Turtleson. Each will be designed to bring the brand closer to the professionals and retail leaders it serves, creating meaningful opportunities to identify emerging trends, exchange ideas and develop relevant solutions for future success.
