G/FORE adds Colourway to their Successful New Shoe Style, the MG4 Plus

by Made Staff August 27, 2020
written by Made Staff

Luxury lifestyle brand and golf footwear innovator, G/FORE is excited to announce the release of their sell-out style, the MG4+ golf shoe, now available in the colour Nimbus. The new colour will be available starting August 4th at gfore.com as well as at green grass shops across the country, and from G/FORE’s many partners online and in-store all over the U.S. as well as in select countries.

Last month the Los Angeles based brand launched their newest shoe style in their line, the MG4+ — pronounced MG4 Plus — which was met with high demand, causing them to sell out in the first week of release. With customers having awaited a restock since the initial introduction, the brand has planned one of their signature surprise launches and will be accompanying the much anticipated restock with a brand new colorway, Nimbus, a soft shade of grey featuring a pop of color on the sole, to round out this collection of easy pairing hues.

With tour professionals like Brandt Snedeker, Nelly Korda, Chez Reavie, and Patrick Rodgers donning the new style in the past few weeks, the brand’s newest shoe innovation has garnered widespread attention causing them to be deemed “tour approved”. In fact, you can catch Snedeker in the MG4+ this weekend at the 2020 PGA Championship at TPC Harding Park.

The MG4+ style boasts an entirely waterproof construction, G/FORE’s signature massaging insoles, a 3-dimensional moulded heel cup for added lateral support, and an auxetic lattice pattern on the outsole that provides a pliable effect by way of its geometric design flexing its shape with the wearer’s weight, which in turn supplies rebound and superior comfort with every step.

You can find the MG4+ as well as G/FORE’s newest line of shoes, accessories, and apparel for the season on their official website, with select items available at gfore.co.uk.

Buca Belts: Adding Color to the Golf Belt Game

by Golf Illustrated August 27, 2020
written by Golf Illustrated

Now there is a new style of golf belts on the market that shy away from the standard solid colors of yesterday. Buca Belts is a bold brand that aims to add a little color to the course by upping your belt game with some bright and energetic colors.

In 2017, the creators of Buca Belts set out to find an exciting, vibrant, and unique golf belt. Since the family spent so much time on the golf course wearing brightly colored shirts, they wanted a belt that was just as bold to match. Looking for quality golf belts beyond the solid colored white, gray or black, they found there was not much offered that could really make a statement. So what did they do…..get out a white belt, some painters tape and a whole bunch of Sharpies!

Since a hand colored Sharpie belt is not a long-term solution, they started the process of creating an actual product. Over the next several years they spent time creating and evaluating various samples from multiple manufacturers. They initially started with samples of the standard leather belt with holes, but quickly found friends and family loved the ease and comfort of ratchet style belts much better.

Finally, in early 2020 Buca Belts launched their initial line of golf belts that really make a statement and can be individually adjusted to almost any size (up to 46”). Already being worn by numerous weekend golfers, KFT players, World Long Drive competitors and PGA caddies, Buca Belts has made a colorful splash in the golf belt world. New patterns are being added soon, so follow along online to keep up with the changes coming.

Although they are directed towards golf, Buca Belts are really for anyone that wants to add some bold colors to their daily outfit. Their slogan is ‘A Perfect Fit For The Greens And Your Jeans’ and they definitely make a statement on or off the course.

Miura Golf Announces First Blade Since 2013: Introducing the MB-101

by Made Staff March 19, 2020
written by Made Staff

The club is the latest in the Japanese clubmaker’s long history of venerated muscleback irons

Miura Golf today introduced the MB-101, the newest addition to its catalog of revered forged muscleback irons. This is the first new blade launched by the family-operated club maker since 2013. Designed and forged by the Miura family in its Himeji, Japan factory, the MB-101 provides discerning golfers with the unrivaled Miura feel developed over six decades of craftsmanship.

The MB-101 is the latest chapter in the Miura family’s perpetual pursuit of perfection.

When Katsuhiro Miura first began forging irons in 1957, he dedicated his career to refining the classic iron. He has since been joined by sons Shinei and Yoshitaka, and the multigenerational collaboration has produced the finest premium clubs in the game. The factory doesn’t design clubs based on market trends or sales targets: Miura irons are produced solely by the pace of inspiration.

“This is a model of which the entire Miura family can be proud,” said Shinei Miura. “My father is as passionate about the MB-101 as any club he has ever designed. Our hope is that it will be recognized as one of the finest irons our factory has ever produced and will remain in our model lineup for years to come.”

Incorporating the best characteristics of the Miura patriarch’s early designs, the MB-101 features the workability and feel expected from a Miura blade, with improved turf interaction and control. The thin sole, optimized from its predecessors, allows the club to cut through turf effortlessly. On crisp contact, the improved clubface provides a heightened feedback.

As craftsmen, the Miura family adhere to the design philosophy kaizen, translated as continuous improvement. Influenced by their father’s artistic vision of excellence, Shinei and Yoshitaka spent six years deconstructing the traditional blade down to its purest elements and resolved to optimize its performance and playability. Shinei recognized that by altering the factory’s existing dies, although labor intensive and defying manufacturing norms, he could make subtle yet impactful refinements to the muscleback.

The improvements to the MB-101 ensure the hosel and top-line of the clubface rest easily behind the ball at address, inspiring golfers’ confidence and trust in this pristine iron. The delicate increase in sole width in concert with even distribution in weight and perfect harmony between hosel and clubface embodies Miura craftsmanship.

“Miura’s reputation is centered on its history of crafting exceptional, championship-caliber blade irons, and the MB-101 continues that legacy,” said Hoyt McGarity, President of Miura Golf. “The MB-101 reminds us that, for the golfer seeking legendary feel and maximum workability, Miura remains the best forged blade on the market.”

Forged from premium S25C soft carbon steel and finished in satin chrome, the MB-101 is designed to visually and viscerally delight golf purists. The MB-101 set runs 3-PW and is available for $280 per iron.

Epicor announces partnership with father-son golf duo Bob and Kevin Tway, one of only ten father-son pairs to have won PGA TOUR events

Epicor Software Corporation, a global provider of industry-specific enterprise software to promote business growth, today announced that it has signed PGA TOUR golfers, father-son duo Bob and Kevin Tway, to a multi-year partnership.

The partnership between Epicor and the Tways is built upon the shared belief that the fusion of technology and fundamentals is a key to success. At Epicor, digital transformation isn’t just about implementing new technology, it’s about applying new tools to business fundamentals and core values, which serve as the guiding light when tackling a complex, fast-changing business landscape. The world’s best family businesses know this and it’s what allows them to pass down their legacy and grow over the years. That is why Bob and Kevin Tway’s family business of professional golf has been successful. By sharing hands-on fundamentals of the game, Bob has guided Kevin to use the fast-changing technology of golf to its greatest potential.

As a part of the partnership, Bob and Kevin Tway will be featured in marketing content globally as Epicor ambassadors. The Tways are excited to support Epicor through its next phase of growth.

“As technology impacts the future of golf, implementing the fundamentals of the game that preserve the legacy of the sport will ultimately bring the most success,” said Bob Tway. “We are proud to partner with Epicor as the company evolves with new technology, but sticks to its core fundamentals as it expands.”

This announcement comes during the week of the PGA TOUR’s Safeway Open, where Kevin Tway looks to defend his maiden victory on the PGA TOUR. Kevin’s victory at the 2018 event cemented his status as one of the game’s elite rising stars. A consistent force on TOUR, Kevin has recorded six top-25 finishes in each of the past three seasons and eight top-10s over that span.

Bob Tway is regarded as one of the best players of his generation. During the 1986 season, Bob won four PGA TOUR events including the 1986 PGA TOUR Championship at the Inverness Club. Throughout his career, he won a total of eight PGA TOUR events and recorded top-10 finishes in every Major Championship.

“I’m thrilled that Epicor is partnering with the Tways—we are all deeply passionate about what we do, have decades of experience, and are experts in our fields,” said Epicor CEO Steve Murphy. “Just as important, both Epicor and the Tways prioritize keeping a mindset grounded in our roots. For Epicor, this means that while we are at the forefront of technology, we don’t operate from an ivory tower. We continue to emphasize the importance of business essentials and staying connected to our customers so that we are better able to serve them.”
